In addition, the need to identify patients with Lynch syndrome has been recognized as a national goal and is included as a developmental Healthy People 2020 Genomics Objective:

“Increase the proportion of persons with newly diagnosed colorectal cancer who receive genetic testing to identify Lynch syndrome (or familial colorectal cancer syndromes)”
